Here’s a small PowerShell Script which symetrically encrypts all files in a folder and decrypts all .gpg files:

Save that script to a gnupg.txt (or whatever name you like, but not gpg) and rename it .ps1. Copy it to System32. Open a PowerShell through the context-menu in the folder where you want to encrypt files. Type in gnupg (or the name you chose) and e (to encrypt) or d (to decrypt).

PowerShell comes with Vista/7. On XP you need the .NET Framework. Of course you have to add the gpg program folder to your Windows environment variables. If you’d rather collect your scripts in a special folder than System32, add that folder to the environment variables as well.

To set encryption options like algos etc, make a gpg.conf or edit the gpg options in the script. Better make a gpg.conf.

Really informative article….but i need one help…basically i want to use GPG in a shell script to encrypt flat files…..any idea about the commands or if i can get any script for reference, it will of great help..

I did pay for a commercial copy to iPod program ($40) only to find out that it honors the copy protect codes. What good is a copy program that will not copy?

I’ve checked out many programs over the years. Recently, I delved into Evernote 3. Always, I stay fixed on Keynote.

Keynote delivers. The programmer made it USB-ready. He gave it virtual notes for each notebook. He did it all.

IMO, Why not just pay around $29 to get a shareware which is capable of converting DVD movies into iPod mp4 in just one step?! It’s all your choice: get iPod mp4 for free in two steps; or pay for a fast ipod converter, and create the iPod mp4 in just one step.

why should you have to pay for more stuff when you already payed for the dvd?

If someone wanted to create an opensource search engine the question is if anyone would use it. If the results were somehow better than Google, people would eventually switch from Google. However it seems likely that the results wouldn’t be as good as Google because of the reasons mentioned above.

It is an interesting idea though.

Luminotes is a light-weight web-based personal wiki, so you can easily make links between your notes and even optionally share your wiki with friends and colleagues. There’s a full-featured free version, too. As for portability, it’ll work anywhere you have a net connection. This won’t meet everyone’s criteria, but not being tied to a single computer or even a certain USB stick does have its benefits.

When you buy a computer, you want to know what components you are getting (Intel 2.6GHz), but don’t care about how the components were manufactured and patented technologies they use. Likewise, from a SEO customer perspective, it will be nice to know exactly which elements of your Web page are important and which aren’t, instead of guessing.

I totally disagree. It sounds like your defense is that their search offering is a monopoly on the web, but there’s nothing wrong with monopolies. It’s when things start hurting the consumer (or when Google uses that advantage illegally) that it becomes an anti-trust issue.

What secrets should be held by companies today? Any?
